Julie's Birthday

I draw this illustration for my sister-in-law's birthday card. With her supportive husband, she works full-time and also brings up her 3 years old twins! I wonder how she keeps up her energy like that...

New work for smart phone applications

I am very glad to write about the English learning application on smart phones for Japanese people now on sale. The title is (in Japanese) "英語アタマの作り方 つぶやきビジネスライフ" and you can see on this website. I drew 240 illustrations in total for this commission and these are all about "business life", not rabbits and bears!

去年お仕事をした、スマホのアプリが発売になりました。お試し版もダウンロードできます。今のところ、アンドロイド版が先ですが、iPhone版もこの後出る予定です。

Illustrations for a learning English application on smart phones

From this July, I've been drawing for my commissioned work from a Japanese media company. It is a learning English application on smart phones and I need to finish 240 illustrations!
Because my drawings have been for children rather than adults, also I've been drawing much more animal characters, drawing business people were very different experience for me in the beginning. Now I get used to draw people little by little. (Yes I know, I have to!)
I've finished 120 drawings so far but these are only the half way through.

I can't show the finished work as it will publish on this Dec, but I uploaded my sketches as my work in progress.

Badge design for another charity group

These are my tin badges idea for the charity group in Japan. The group are going to sell these badges, and the money will be used to help orphans in Souma city, who lost their parents by the Tsunami on 11th of March. Horse is a symbol of the City. I draw a bird as well, it is the meaning of "hope" in this picture. 3rd image is Mt. Fuji which is the local symbol of the charity group.

These are the mascot character designs for a Japanese cancer support group Relay for Life Nagaizumi. Nagaizumi is a name of the city and their symbolic flower is Satsuki Tsutsuji which I was inspired from to make this character.

For Tohoku

It was long time ago, I went to Iwate, my mother's home town. I remember the market was lively, and many women were selling vegetables and seaweeds. Even the old women were working very hard and they were proud of their products, let you try sometimes and had a good chat with visitors. The market has wiped out by the tsunami, and I hope many people were rescued and safe now.
